Lazare Gaudet married Appoline Perry, likely around 1843 in Prince Edward Island, Canada.
On 5 Aug 1844 their son Philippe Gaudet was born in Prince Edward Island, Canada and he was baptized the next day (6 Aug 1844).
On 8 Oct 1847 their son Zozime Gaudet was born in Tignish, Prince Edward Island, Canada and baptized the same day.
On 10 Aug 1851 their son Joseph Gaudet was born in Prince Edward Island, Canada. He was baptized on 17 Sep 1851 in Prince Edward Island, Canada.
On 18 Dec 1856 their son Ephraim Gaudet was born in Prince Edward Island, Canada. He was baptized 21 Dec 1856 in Prince Edward Island, Canada.
On 6 Jan 1859 their daughter Judith Gaudet was born in Prince Edward Island, Canada and she was baptized 9 Jan 1859 in Prince Edward Island, Canada.
On 12 Feb 1861 their son Peter Gaudet was born in Prince Edward Island, Canada and he was baptized 18 Feb 1861.
In the 1861 Census, Lazare Gaudet is listed in Lot 1, Prince Edward Island, as a family of 8, with 2 males under 5 years of age, 2 males from 5 to 16, 1 male from 16 to 21, 1 male from 21 to 46, 1 female under 5, and 1 female 21 to 45. This would logically be Lazare and his wife Appoline and their first 6 children Philippe, Zozime, Joseph, Ephraim, Judith and Peter. None of the 8 had been vaccinated or had had small pox. 2 were married and the other 6 were single. All 8 were Roman Catholic. The family had a 999 year lease, with 20 years expired.
On 7 Jul 1865 their daughter Mary Gaudet was born in Prince Edward Island, Canada, and she was baptized 9 Jul 1865 in Prince Edward Island, Canada.
So far, I have not located Lazare and his family in the 1871 census.
Presumably, Appoline Perry died and Lazare Gaudet remarried to a much younger wife, Sophie Doucet, likely around 1873 in Prince Edward Island, Canada.
Jerome Gaudet, the son of Lazare Gaudet and Sophie Doucet was born 28 Feb 1874 in Prince Edward Island, Canada. He was baptized 1 Mar 1874 in the same place.
Appolina Gaudet, the daughter of Lazare Gaudet and Sophie Doucet was born 13 May 1876 in Prince Edward Island, Canada and baptized 15 May 1876 in the same place. (I find it interesting when first girl children are named after the deceased spouse, I just can't see that being done today!)
Mary Rose Gaudet, the daughter of Lazare Gaudet and Sophie Doucet, was born 23 Oct 1881 in Prince Edward Island, Canada and baptized 31 Oct 1881 in the same place

In the 1881 Census of Canada, Lazare (age 61) is living with his second wife Sophie Doucet (age 36) and his children Joseph (age 28), Ephraim (age 26), Peter (age 20) Mary (age 16) and Jerome (age 7) Poline (age 5) in Lot 1, Prince Edward Island, Canada.
In the 1891 Census of Canada, Lazare (age 72) is living with his second wife Sophie (age 46) and his children Jerome (age 18), Pauline (age 15), Rosella (age 9), Madeline (age 3)
